Everybody is so busy competing with their competitors that they forget that they are human beings and they also have a life, and instead of running a race they can actually enjoy the journey.

This is the beginning of a new year and every year one thing is common, taking resolutions. But the problem is we take resolution and break it after sometime because we are not able to either relate to it, or we find it very difficult in the beginning, and we quit.

So this year, let's take those basic self improvement  resolutions which are very easy to follow and  can make us feel more human, more alive and help us enjoy this journey called life. These things are so simple that you’ll not end up discontinuing  them like every year.

Remember to start with investing less time and try to make it a habit. Once it becomes a habit, you don’t have to worry much about it, your subconscious mind will handle these things for you.

5 resolutions you can take this year for self improvement:

Dedicate some time every day for learning something

Generally people have this mindset that once our education complets, our learning completes. This is the worst mindset to have. Learning never ends, and learning is the only skill which makes you confident about yourself.

Fix some time in a day which you’ll dedicate to learning no matter what. And everyday try to do this at the same time, it will help your subconscious mind to create a habit and remember it. Learn any new skill you can.

Meditate

Dedicate some time for meditation everyday. Meditation helps you clear off negative thoughts from your mind and increases your concentration power. When you initially start meditation, you’ll only have negative thoughts and you’ll find it very difficult to concentrate for more than 15 seconds. But gradually, you’ll be able to concentrate and you’ll start feeling better about yourself.

Save money

Very useful tip for everyone. Save some money every month. Automate your deduction that when you get your salary, a fixed amount of money automatically gets transferred to a different account of yours.You have to make up your mind that whatever money is left, you have to take care of yourself in this much money. And use that money for investment to increase your savings. 

This tip is even for students. No matter how much pocket money you get, transfer some amount to a different account for investment and spending upon yourself.  

Listen

These days, this is the worst habit of any individual. We don’t listen to grasp anything or understand anything. We listen to others to contradict them or reply to them. We always listen to others to discuss.

So try to develop this habit of  listening to others, not to retaliate back, but to grasp things. Just listen. There must be a reason God has given us two years and only one mouth. So listen more and speak less.

Document your important decisions

Last but not the least, if you're taking any crucial decision in your life, be it the carrier you are choosing or the car you're buying, write down why you are choosing this or why you are taking this decision. You can write it down either on a paper  or even you can write it on your laptop or mobile phone in any software os sheet. This will do 3 things:

  1. You’ll have a logical reason given by yourself for important decisions so you’ll not take any decision illogically.

  2. At any point of time in your life, if you feel, why you started this journey, you’ll be able to go back and see the reasons your mind gave you to start this journey. It will give you motivation.

  3. If you fail in any of your decisions, you’ll have your reasons why it happened. And what was wrong and how to learn from this decision.

Try to implement these things in your life.These habits will help you become more purpose driven and confident in your life and You’ll complain less about yourself. You will feel grateful for what you have and value yourself.
